That girl is an idiot. After some time she is definitely going to get eye problems. Contacts even just one need to be managed very delicately and many have been developed so they let in more oxygen. But by added more it can create small cuts in the eye and damage it. Your eyes become more susceptible to infections. What can start out as a swollen corneas can lead to dry eyes permanently or loss of vision. I hope your vision is more important than a look or style.

I'm learning the hard way. Do not use contacts that aren't fitted by someone who is specialized in the optical field (meaning someone you meet in person not online) and layering is wrong in so many ways.

No, it is not safe. I don't know where she got her information from, but it can actually harm your eyes if you double up on the contacts. I'm assuming the color contacts are not prescription, so therefore if she's placing a rx contact as well as over-the-counter colors, she's harming her eyes, not helping them. I have worn contacts for years now, and I wouldn't dream of placing two contacts in each eye. Sounds painful, dangerous and silly.

Layered contacts means her eyes are being deprived of oxygen.

Air can't pass through the lenses when they are doubled up like that.

She thinks no harm is being done...but she is wrong. The effect of blocking the air like that will cause problems eventually...maybe even soon.
