Question: Is there any medical care needed for a missing eye?
So I'm not missing an eye, but I like to write stories and one of my characters is missing an eye.
In the story it was gouged out. I'd like to know if there's any long term care needed for the socket?
I can't seem to find a definite answer online, so it would really help me if anyone knew.

sometimes they pack it with gauze until the healing is complete.
my dog doobie lost his eye and we did nothing and it was ok.
