Are there exercises for eyes to fix nearsightedness ?!

Question: Are there exercises for eyes to fix nearsightedness ?
My eyes are getting blurry each day and I have to move closer to the objects in order to see them clearly. Am 20 years old and it is hard for me to accept that I have to wear glasses or contact lenses to correct my vision. I remember that a friend of mine told me that there are exercises specially for the eyes that can help nearsighted people. Please, can anyone give me such information ?

Answers:

Nearsightedness is often caused by bad habits such as excessive reading and close work without sufficient breaks and proper lighting. After long close work the strained eye muscles lock up into a state of near focus. This condition can lead to permanent myopia. Minus glasses are prescribed so that the world can closer and clearer to your eyes.
Unfortunately stronger eye glasses will be prescribed for you again and again and they cannot “fix” the eye condition. Actually myopia can be avoided by allowing your eyes to move around naturally every day. Try this exercise that is called tracing. Simply pick an object such as a house, a bicycle or a car and slowly follow the trace around the object for three or four times. This way your eyes will remain mobile and train them to look and move smoothly. As you finished tracing around the object for several time, you will notice that your vision becomes clearer and relaxed. This simple exercise can strengthen your eye muscles and give you an opportunity to enjoy great vision for many years to come. There are other excellent exercises for your eyes such as palming and sunning that you may learn. All you need is a little of patience and persistence. To your health !

I think it's probably a bunch of crack. I've been wearing glasses since I was two, and in all honesty...they aren't that bad. I often don't remember I'm wearing them. Then again I've been wearing them since I was two...so :-/ But in any case, I'm near sighted myself. If there were exercises to help this I would have known a long time ago. Granted I also have a lazy eye which makes my vision suck, but I would still be nearsighted without it. Also my brother had lazy eye and had a surgery to correct it, but he is still nearsighted, so he would know as well.
Contacts are nice if you get the right kind for you, but I think they are a bit more expensive (You'll go through more contacts than frames. Often there are also deals with frames like buy one get one free or buy one get one half off which is super awesome for either a back up pair of frames or prescription sunglasses. I can't say for contacts though. I had them at one time but I couldn't get used to them so I switched back to glasses.)You might actually LIKE glasses. They have frames that are quite stylish now, in fact, fashion designers have been designing frames (I used to own a pair by DKNY and I own a pair now by Bebe) so they look quite nice and there are SO MANY DIFFERENT STYLES!
Or you could go with contacts seeing as you haven't worn glasses your whole life and they may be a bit harder to adjust to. You would just have to make sure you remember to take the contact lenses OUT or you may be faced with a difficult situation the next morning (I fell asleep with contacts in once and I had really dry eyes the next morning. It made it about ten times harder to take out, but it's normally pretty easy.) They also make contacts now that you can leave in over night with no problems.

You said you vision was getting worse everyday? I'm guessing that you just meant they are getting worse quickly, but whether it's literally every day or your vision is just getting bad fast, you need to visit an eye doctor anyways to rule out any chance of a disease affecting your eyesight.

You might also be able to get away with reading glasses.

Lasik surgery could do wonders as well. In all honesty though I don't wanna trust it. It just sounds scary.

Overall, no there's no eye exercises. Not that I'm aware of. Not any that work anyways, because vision issues often have something to do with the lense in your eye (which needs surgery to fix) I believe (don't quote me.) But you should at least try both contacts AND frames. You might just end up liking them. I LOVE mine, and you can always switch things up!
