The best thing is to cover it, use tape and gauze, enough light pressure from the gauze to keep the lid closed, so you don't feel like opening it.

I have scratched both eyes numerous times, from sand to tree branches swimming goggles etc.

The best thing is not to rub it, it will simply take time to heal at this point.

In fact, more than likely an eye doctor will simply check the tear to make sure it will heal right, and then give it time to heal. (there is no Magic stuff to make it heal, just time!)

Keep it covered, and DONT'T RUB IT.
And quit sleeping in your contacts! :)

Put some eye drops in if you have some. Keep your contacts out. Hot compresses may help but really its a matter of time for your eye to heal. they shoudl start to improve in 24 hours.Eyes really hurt if scratched but they also heal fast unless they have major damage.

Its not a good idea to fall asleep with your contacts in as it deprives your eyes of oxygen. If this happens again i suggest you put in contact specific eyedrops before taking them out as your eyes will be dry and its more likely you will scratch your eyes if you take them out with your eyes dry.
