My macbook pro 13 inch kills me eyes! help?!

Question: My macbook pro 13 inch kills me eyes! help?
My eyes have really been bothering me. After a year with working with my beloved macbook 13 inch my vision cannot handle what it used to and I'm only 19! I went to the eye doctor and he told me I was suffering from dry eyes. which apparently can happen if you are on the computer a lot.

I want to be able to use my computer, but at the lowest setting the screen is basically darker looking but the LED is still hurting my eyes. It's a uncomfortable combination. What can I do for my eyes to avoid computer light damage, effect. What can I do for the computer so the LED doesn't make me go blind? Right now it's on the lowest setting and it's all too much. I've heard of anti glare films for computers. but I would prefer one that worked without making the screen too ugly to look at fuzzy (I already wear glasses no more eye strain), odd look ect.

Thank you so much!

Firstly computer screens dont' damage your eyes permanently. However laptop screens are unsuitable for use over long periods as they strain your eyes adn you can't set them up properly to get to the right angle. Computer firms have stict health and safety rules to stop people doing this. Anti-glare films used to be aroudn for the old CRT monitors - they aren't useful for laptop screens and new monitors.

If you are working at the screen for hours at a time you need to hook up yoru laptop to a seperate screen adn keypad/mouse. There is loads of advice on answers about teh correct setup and precautions for this. The other thing with dry eyes is to make sure you are drinking enough water. Might sound simple but its very easy not to drink enough when working on computers adn this in turn affects your eyes.

computer professional for many years.

Well what i would do is definitely decrease the brightness in the screen but also, TAKE A BREAK FROM IT!! Not for along time just for a few days im sure you'll live but also put some eye drops in for dry eye and take some naps and get more sleep!

Personal experiance

they have eye drops for dry eyes, also try wearing sunglasses and get more sleep at night, trust me its as simple as that its happened to me before.

Maybe give apple a call and ask them how to make the screen dimmer or not as bright. = )

do what eric said! I did it and it worked so good
