GP Contact lenses, right eye uncomfortable, left eye fine?!

Question: GP Contact lenses, right eye uncomfortable, left eye fine?
Ive got bad eyesight, bad astigmatism, not sure how much, my optition keeps saying something around 8 or 9.

Ive been given GP contact lenses recently, i used to have soft lenses, but the rotation and blurryness got on my nerves, although the comforability.

I have now been given gp contact lenses and the eyesight is alot better, although i know i suffer from dry eye after a few hours and use eye drops im suffering alot uncomforability from them. My left eye is fine, cant even feel the hard lens now but my right i can constantly feel it, like its sore on my eye when i look left or right and blink , ive been back to the optitions and he cant find anything wrong with it, says the fit is fine and cant see anything wrong. Is it common that one eye had more sensability than another? because i feel a dull aching when i pull them out for a day or 2 after and my eye feels heavy.I put them in everyday. Although my eyes do not go red at all, may have a few vains there but so does my other eye. What could this be? Wish the soreness would go away.

I can understand that they will never be really comfortable, but why cant the right be the same as the left and not throbe or show any sort of uncomfortability. Ive had this pair for about 4 - 5 days.

Thanks in advance

I used to wear these before contacts came out. Now I did find that one lens was always harder to wear in than the other. I suspect that its the fit of the lens - sometimes your eye just fits slightly better , bit like with shoes , and with this type of lens fit makes a lot of difference to comfort. Now I wore hard and rgp lenses successfully for over 20 years but they do take far more time to wear in. I would reckon at least a month to get 6 to 8 hours decent wearing time. I'd suggest that you slow down a bit and stick at a lower wearing time. Until they are wearing better try and wear them outside rather than inside if possible. Contacts dont' behave well in front of computer screens and its better to avoid that until they are worn in. Patience is the key here. With the comfort you will probably always be aware of them to some extent but you really wont' notice this after time. It just becomes part of the background unless you don't wear them every day. I found mine well worth the effort but I did have doubts during the first 3 months I had them.
