20/20 is better! It is actually just an angle you're measuring.

20 is used as it's the distance that vision is usually measured at - 20ft.

Incidentally in Europe and some metric countries they use 6/6 - because they use 6m as this distance (which is basically the same as 20ft).

Also incidentally 20/20 isn't the best vision - a young healthy person can usually get 20/15 and some people can get even more - 20/20 was good 100+ years ago when they started measuring these things.

19/19 doesn't exist unless the chart was configured to be used at 19 feet instead of 20 feet...in which case, it would be the same thing.

The first number is always 20 because it it based on the chart being at 20 feet away.

20/20 isn't the best vision anyway...many people have 20/15... even 20/10 ...which are both better than 20/20

No, the same I think, but they wouldn't measure it that way. The top number is always 20, and it's the distance to the eye chart, and the bottom number is how large (maybe in centimeters, not sure) the letters have to be for you to see them. For example, my vision is 20/200 without glasses or contacts, meaning from 20 feet away, the letters must be 200 centimeters(?) tall for me to make them out. So, 20/19 would be better than 20/20. Though I don't think they measure it in increments that small. Like, my husband's vision is 20/10 in one eye, so really good.

The higher the number the worse your vision gets. 20/20 is perfect vision.

yes like 20 something /20

Yes, 20 is the best you can get.
