Does astigmatism make your vision blurry at a distance or at close things?!

Question: Does astigmatism make your vision blurry at a distance or at close things?
Answers:

Astigmatism, in the absence of other vision problems such as near or far sightedness, can best be described as a lack of fine detailed resolution at both distance and near. Therefore, the size of what you're trying to resolve and/or the distance from you both have an effect.

For example, if you had astigmatism that was uncorrected and if the letters C O G were small enough or far enough away, you might still be able to tell they are letters, but you would look at them and probably go "I dunno, they're round. Maybe they are all 'O'." I hope that makes sense. With astigmatism corrected you would be able to resolve the differences between the three. You would see the C has a gap, the O is complete and the G has a gap and a tail. Again, I hope that makes sense.

It can affect both. However, it's more noticeable up close, when reading or looking at a computer screen. When looking at a letter, patients see what are described as "ghost letters" around it. It'll be the same letter, but it's almost as if a shadow of the leader appears around it. Kind of hard to explain here, but hopefully that helps.
