Help! Sleeping with your contacts in?!

Question: Help! Sleeping with your contacts in?
It's like 5:10 am right now and I need sleep! I forgot my contact case, solution at my aunt's house and I've been up for hours now. I can't go out to buy solution or a case and I can't get the case until 11am. I'm dying for a nap but I'm scared of the consequences. What do I do!!!

The answer very much depends on what kind of contact lenses you’re using. If you are using extended wear soft lenses, you can sleep in them. If you’re using regular soft lenses, you might be okay. If you’re using firm or hard lenses, you should not sleep in them as you might get a corneal abrasion. The cornea is the outer surface of the eye and if you abrade it (scrape or damage it), you will be in some pain and probably have to not wear your contact lenses for awhile, maybe several days.

Years of experience wearing all kinds of contact lenses. I’m now using the 30-day extended wear lenses and sleep in them every night. There are several brands available; I use Air Optix.

I have done this a couple times. I simply take out my contacts and put them on a piece of toilet paper or paper towel. Sometimes even the counter. Then in the morning, and carefully pick them up (because they will be really dry and krinkly) and put them into the solution for a little bit, soon they will be back to normal!

You can sleep in your contacts theyll just be really dry when you wake up
