Question: Is wearing glasses classed as a visual impairment ?
i have to fill in my application form for a college i'm wanting to go to, is having to wear glasses a visual impairment ???

Of course not. If your vision is corrected with glasses then you are not visually impaired. Doesn't it seem silly to say that that glasses = being visually impaired?

If you are eligible to receive services for the blind, then you are visually impaired. Simple.



If you wear eyeglasses due to low vision, then the college probably considers that as an impairment. If your vision is corrected with eyeglasses, then it would not be considered an impairment.



I think they mean here do you not have full vision even with glasses /contacts. If you get full vision wearing glasses its not usually counted as a visual impairment.



you are wearing glasses because your vision is impaired....so yes....
