any major difference between +.5 and +.25 in eye lenses prescription for left ey!

A + 0.50 makes a noticeable difference in the vision , whereas a + 0.25 doesn't.

A + 0.25 is normally never prescribed on it's own unless the other eye has a stronger prescription than that.

But +.50 is common , because it does make a difference.

I see your problem now. Yes, that would make a big difference in your distance vision. The new one has eliminated the astigmatism correction in both eyes also, which is the biggest difference.

There is hardly a difference there. There is only 0.25 diopters which is the least in an optical prescription but some notice differences.
