Putting my Colored Contacts in water?!

Question: Putting my Colored Contacts in water?
I just recently got contacts in the mail, to review for my youtube channel. The company doesn't sell solution, and it's Geo Contact Lens. They are 100% authentic, and there is a sticker prooving it, with the number aswell. Anyways, they don't cover the pupil (They are not perscription) They are colored lenses. Aside from that, I don't own solution. I haven't put them on yet, but I really want to try them. What are some things I can use as solution? That won't hurt my eyes? I prefer having household things, making it much easier for me. Or where can I get solution? And what is the average price for a bottle of it? Thanks so much. Please feel free to post tips for contacts aswell.

You MUST use contact lens solution. Water will ruin contact lenses.

Contact lenses are a medical device, no matter which way you slice it, and they should be treated as such with respect.

It also worries me that you know nothing about caring for the contact lenses nor know how to properly put them into your eyes and take them out. That's not a very smart move to try on your own if you are so worried about not hurting your eyes...

Whether or not they are prescription or plano (no power) and whether or not the colored portion of the contact lens covers the pupil MAKES NO DIFFERENCE. It is still a contact lens.

Plus, how do you know what base curve you need? How do you know what diameter you need? Did this company just randomly send you random lenses? Again, THIS IS NOT SAFE to be randomly putting a lens onto your eye that you have no idea if it fits properly. That's a really good way to damage your cornea and/or the front surface of your eye from an improperly fitting contact lens, and someone who doesn't know how to use them.

All things considered, you need to go take yourself to an eye clinic and be shown how to use these lenses and taught how to take care of them if you "don't want to hurt your eyes". It wouldn't hurt if you could get them to check the fit of the lenses as well, but most offices won't do that if they did not sell you the lenses themselves.

Footprints is right. If you are going to review a product, you better learn about it first, unless you want to encourage others to risk their vision too and/or make yourself sound like an idiot to those who know better.

I am an optometry intern and wore contact lenses for many years.

hey! Please get solution! I have worn contacts for many years and water will not hydrate the contacts, just ruin and cover them with a weird film and hurt your eyes. A big bottle is around 5 or 6 dollars at any grocery store or drug store. Bausch + Lomb sell a starter kit with a small bottle of solution, a contact case and some coupons for probably $4 and instructions. Get multipurpose solution

There is nothing you can use that will replace real multi-purpose solution for them. Anything made at home will give you an infection.

Don't even open them until you have solution to store them in.

Look for Opti-Free Replenish , and get a case. Every pharmacy carries contact lens solutions.

If you are going to review them , you should be able to tell the kids who will see it, how to take care of them also...which means you better learn it yourself first.

Instructions are on the box. And there are lots of youtube videos about contacts too.

NEVER NEVER put contacts in water.
