Question: Do active gamers (3+ hours of gaming a day) have better hand eye coordination and/or reaction time them non?
And by how much? Serious answers only.

Answers:

I am gamer, but I do not have time to spend more than 3 hours a night on it. I think gaming does help with hand-eye coordination, but I am not certain if there is any type of measurement to show how much.

I can tell a story where a Nintendo DS and Wii has helped a child with cerebral palsy. My friend's daughter was born with cerebral palsy. The doctor's told her parents that although her brain function was normal meaning that she was still capable of learning normally. Her physical abilities would be severely limited and she probably would not be able to walk and her motor skills would be poor at best. Her mother introduced her to children's games on the Nintendo DS and Wii Sports. The little girl's hand eye coordination improved way beyond what the doctor's even expected and she started crawling and can stand now on her own. Her parents are hopeful that she will be able to walk on her own someday.

Here are some pages with information about it.

The Nintendo DS has been used for Alzheimer's treatment as well.

Not by a incredible amount, and there are others who spend there time doing other things that recreate this accelerated reaction time in a more constructive way. Just because people say it accelerated your reaction time doesn't mean it doesn't make it better then people who spend their time playing sports.

I don't care but we have way more fun then you :D
