What's wrong with my eye?!

Question: What's wrong with my eye?
It started hurting yesterday and I took my contact out. I woke up this morning and it hurt a lot and is very red. It's sensitive to light and i can't keep it open for very long. Also, it's the top that hurts the most. I rinsed
it out with saline solution but that hasn't helped. What should i do and what's wrong?

It sounds like you have a scratched or torn cornea. Avoid touching it as much as possible. Get to the doctors right away. They can give you numbing drops for the pain, antibiotics to keep it from getting infected and you might be told to wear an eye patch for a few days while it heals.

Also, check your contact for tears or chips. A torn edge on a soft contact can do alot more than just scratching your cornea. Toss them out and get a new pair if you see any irregularity or damage on them. And whatever you do, DO NOT PUT THEM BACK IN YOUR EYE until you have seen your eye doctor.

I agree its probably a scratch and its likely the contact is damaged. I'd be inclined ot give it 24 hours before going to the optician though. Eyes get very sore but they heal fast as well.

If its getting worse through the day then go in as an emergency but this type of thing does tend ot look after itself.

Its because your constantly using contacts. Your eyes need rest for a couple of days. Just wash your eyes out with plenty of herbal eye solution and dont scratch or touch your eyes xxx

likely scratched something. might also have infection. patch it temporarily and see an ophthalmologist.
