Is Kaiser a good hospital for surgery?!

Question: Is Kaiser a good hospital for surgery?
Im getting scoliosis surgery next year and im really scared. So i want to know if kaisers a good hospital for like the nurses, food, doctors, what the risk is from surgery, etc. I looked up the top 50 hospitals and it wasint there so im scared. Last time when i went to the one in hollywood wher im getting the surgery it didint give off a good impression, I had to wait over an hour just to find out they mixed up documents and the nurse was complaining about his job and an old lady didint like hospital, but I HAVE to get surgery there because we have kaiser on insurance. I cant go to any other hospital.

Answers:

I really don't personally have any experience with Kaiser, but since you have no choice and must use one of the Kaiser Foundation Hospitals, if it is not terribly inconvenient, perhaps you should check out some of their other facilities. You do have a year until your surgery and the Kaiser group seems to have a number of hospitals all over California. The California group have a pretty good reputation from some of what I've read on the internet. There is always some patient who will complain about any hospital and some employee who is very unprofessional and will complain about their job. Unfortunately, lengthy waits is sort of the norm in this type of situation, so I wouldn't hold any of the complaints or waiting time against Kaiser. Now, mixing up your papers is very concerning and I would definitely mention it to your surgeon and attending physician.
