Question: I woke up this morning and it hurt so horribly to open my left eye?
It still hurts really bad, I woke up about 30 minutes ago. I wear contacts, i took the left one out when i woke up. When i tried to open it as i woke up it burned so bad and tears were flowing out of just my left eye from trying to keep it open. The pain lessened after i took the contact out, and i can open it and keep it open now, but it still feels really raw. I have no idea what this is from. please help? A couple important details:
1. I have day and night contacts that you wear continuosly for 30 days.
2. My mom just quit her job so we have no insurance so i have no way to get to any sort of doctor :'(

Answers:
You probably have some sort of scratch on your eye , or possibly an infection. This should heal itself in 48 hours or so although it will be painful in between. Keep your contacts out until your eyes are healed. Whilst you may have day and night contacts you still have more risk of this happening if you wear at night so I'd suggest you are doubly careful till you get insurance. If it doesn't heal then somehow you will have to find the money as you may need antibiotics but teh likelihood is that it will just heal itself.
