Answers:

Well whatever you are reading must be wrong. There are TONS of eye conditions that could cause you to go BLIND and you don't even feel anything or see anything wrong on the outside, such as papilledema (most often due to a tumor in the brain, pressing on the optic nerve) or atherosclerosis (little cholesterol clots floating around in your blood that can clot in the retina, or your brain) or diabetes (especially if you don't know you have it, it can atrophy the optic nerve) and MORE. This is why regular annual eye exams with your eye doctor are so important. They can catch these things that can have no symptoms and you can't see that anything is wrong.

Now, as far as your bloodshot eyes...

Are you eyes also dry? Dryness can cause the little vessels in your eye to become inflamed and look bloodshot.

Do you work on a compter a lot? This can cause dryness.

Do you have allergies? While allergies usually also cause itchy eyes, it doesn't always. So you could be allergic to something.

There's so many things that cause red bloodshot eyes; I need a lot more background information from you to even guess what it might be. Plus, seeing your eye in person would also help.

If you are concerned about it, my best advice would be for you to go see an optometrist who can fully evaluate your eye and determine what may be causing it.

I am an optometry intern.
