Could my lack of ability to focus my eyes be caused by an increase of pressure?!

Question: Could my lack of ability to focus my eyes be caused by an increase of pressure?
As in high bloo pressure or stress? It's like just recently I woke up and I can't focus my eye(s) on anything to read in the farsighted one: I am farsighted abd nearsighted. I'm relatively young (16) so this is abnormal for my age.

Why do you think you have high blood pressure?

Are you sure you are farsighted in that eye? I only ask because it is very easy for the general public to get things confused like nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and everything in-between.

Blood pressure should have nothing to do with the focusing system in your eye, called accommodation.

Increased eye pressure (called intraocular pressure) could potentially affect your accommodation; however, you are young and sound to be healthy so I wouldn't necessarily be worried about something like high IOP with you.

Stress could possibly affect your ability to accommodate. If you are farsighted (called hyperopia), it means that your eye does not have enough power on its own to focus on things, in simple terms anyway. But you can make up for the power you lack by focusing (accommodating). If you are under a lot of stress and you have a decent amount of hyperopia that is not corrected by glasses or contact lenses, it may be possible that the demand is just too much for your accommodation to handle, and thus you would see blurry out of your hyperopic eye.

Are your eyes dry? That often can cause blurry vision, and it quite possible if you slept with your contact lenses in or if you slept with your eyes slightly open (and didn't know it).

Either way, I need to know some more information to determine why you might be seeing blurry out of one eye.

I am an optometry intern.
