My depth perception is messed up, and everything seems to wave in and out...?!

Question: My depth perception is messed up, and everything seems to wave in and out...?
My right eye has been very nearsighted for a while, so my brain adjusted, and automatically turns off my right eye when staring into distance (doctor said). However, I occasionally get stricken with this nauseating feeling of losing depth and size perception, like right now! My hands look like ants when I'm typing this, and they seem to be like 10 meters away from me.

My left eye has perfect vision. This happens to me randomly sometimes when I'm laying in bed looking at the ceiling, but more often it happens to me when I'm looking at a monitor. NO I will not wear glasses or contacts. Any other suggestions on these weird symptoms are appreciated.

Answers:

That sounds like Alice in Wonderland Syndrome, specifically micropsia. Do you get migraines? That's the usual cause.

well you didn't mention why you wouldn't wear lenses or glasses since they can fix the vision problem.the reason why you have this experience most likely is that your brain and your optical system is exhausted from the amount of work it has to do.not wearing glasses works for children(depending on age and the vision defect) but if you've passed childhood definitely not for you.your eye's muscles have been constantly at their limit to fix the problem so when you do something like staring at the monitor they finally give up.as a person who's been wearing glasses since 6th grade they're not that awful that you think and lenses are actually pretty comfortable.work for the advantage of your body.

i'm a med student.
