Question: How long does it take to get used to wearing eye glasses?

I need some I think, I'm going to opthamologist when I get a referal. I'm getting old maybe, I'm using high contrast white on black just to read the screen. The magnifyers worked for a little bit. Is it hard to remember to carry them around?
