What's wrong with my eyesight?!

Question: What's wrong with my eyesight?
For years it seems something has been obscuring my eyesight and I am not sure what could be wrong.
It is not that the world around me is blurry but more that it is infested with these "black splotches" the cloud my vision. Everything seems as if I am standing before a filthy window examining the world beyond. Squinting does not help. This problem has been exceeding as the years progress and I acquire more of these annoying blotches. I've tried going to the eye doctor but they gave me no diagnosis. (Of course this was a couple years ago).
I am 17 years old now if that helps in any way.
I could live with this problem if my main hobbies were not reading or theatre (imagine how hard it is to do an audition when one has a terrible time reading the script!)
Thanks for the help in advance!
I do hope somebody has an answer... somewhere...

If you have not been able to get a diagnosis in the past I think you need to go to a specialist.

Me. I am an optometric physician.

It's not anything you'd need to go to a doctor for. It's perfectly normal. I get those all the time and mine go away. I'm surprised after so long, if it bothered you so much, you didn't go to an eye doctor...

They could be floaters which is cell debris in the eye. Usually benign but
Get your eyes examined as occasionally they are a sign of a retinal detachment that needs urgent treatment
