Why do my eyes stream when I go out in the cold?!

Question: Why do my eyes stream when I go out in the cold?
I used to get ear ache at the slightest bit of wind when I was younger, but now it's just my eyes that are effected. Why does this happen? It is so annoying when you have makeup on and you have to keep mopping up the tears.

It is the cold wind/breeze blowing in your eyes that dries them out. Our bodies are biologically designed to produce tears when our eyes are dried out or get irritated. Wind causes irritation and dryness therefore your eyes react naturally by creating excess tearing to keep your eyes moisturised.

My eyes water as well and have done all my life especially if there is a wind blowing in my face. I wear glasses so the wind is channelled into my eyes. I'd save money in winter if I was you. Don't wear makeup except for lippy then you just have to dab your eyes.
