What can I do if Ii think my prescription is wrong?!

Question: What can I do if Ii think my prescription is wrong?
I went to the optician last week an saw a locum who was very young. She tested my vision and said that my nearsightedness had reduced and prescribed new contacts which are half a diopter weaker in both eyes than I have worn for two years or more. I have them now and there is no way my vision is as good without them. Can I insist on getting the old prescription?

Go back and tell them you don't see well. They will surely re-test your eyesight and give you the appropriate lenses

I had this once with a trainee. The optician immediately retested my eyes and got rid of the offending contacts. However I did get asked if I minded being trained on to show them where they had got it wrong.

Return to the optician for retest and tell them you don't see as well. They should retest and exchange the contacts for free.

You probably don't have to insist on anything. Just go back and inform them that you aren't seeing as well with the new contacts, and they will go from there.

Optician

Go back to your optician. Never heard of nearsightedness being reduced.

Why not visit another optician for a second opinion?

Go back and get eyes retested by someone else. They have to supply correct lenses.

Just go back and explain, no problem, no big deal.
