Why am I suddenly more intolerant of the blurriness that I get when I take off m!

Question: Why am I suddenly more intolerant of the blurriness that I get when I take off my glasses?
I've been mildly nearsighted all my adult life but my prescription has never gone beyond -2. I've never worn them full time but am finding that life in soft focus is becoming annoying so am wondering whether I should just keep them on. I generally wear my glasses indoors as I can see better with them on but other than that I put them on and off most of the time. My prescription is relatively up to date so why would it be that I am suddenly more intolerant to blurriness without my glasses? after putting up with it for so long I'm struggling to understand why it has become so annoying.

Why are you concerned about having an intolerence to blur in your vision. Mowt people adjust their vision to.ensure that they see clearly in front of them.

So you had this thing going on where you tried to tolerate not being able to see things all your life. I'm sure people see you as a really normal person...

You know if you want to be able to tolerate not being able to see things have you heard of using a blindfold?. That would be a lot easier and require less effort. You can also put your head in a hole in the ground ostrich style.

When you say realtively up to date how old? It could be that a marginal deterioration just pushes you over the limit to where the blur becomes annoying. Try getting a check up and possibly consider if contacts would suit you better if you feel the need to wear your glasses more. Glasses are a bit of a pain outside.

As you age, your eyes tend to change shape, and your focus becomes less sharp. Add to that the in-focus / out-of-focus you're subjecting your eyes to all day as you remove and replace your glasses, and it's easy to see why your eyes are starting to kick up a fuss.

You already know the answer: go see your eye doctor and discuss laser correction.

Because your brain started working and you realised there's people around you

Theres the girl with a big pair of glasses. When she swings, she stays still. She doesn't understand.

She has a sad, sad face.

It's probably because you got used to it. That's what happened to me, and it's annoying, because before that I could go out with no glasses and feel perfectly comfortable with 3.25 nearsightedness. Now I can't think how I would survive ithout my glasses or contacts....

You've probably become used to your improved vision with the glasses on, so when you take them off you can't help but notice the difference.

The general guide with myopia of this degree is wear them whenever you feel the need and it is normal as we get older to become more dependant on our glasses.

I must point out though that any *sudden* change in vision or sudden problems should be addressed by your Optometrist, even if your last test wasn't so long ago.

What approximate age are you? Has your lifestyle, job, health, medication or anything else changed recently? Are you more tired? Do you use text or a VDU more these days?
