Do you mean cataract surgery ?
After having one eye done, they will be seeing very well with that eye and the lens in their old glasses won't work for them anymore.
It's a difficult period to pass when just one eye is done. What we do quite often is replace the lens in front of that eye with a plain lens, so they can still wear the glasses with the lens they need for the other eye. It doesn't work for everyone though, especially if the other eye requires a strong correction, there is too much imbalance between the two eyes.
Some prefer to keep the blurred lens in front of the operated eye and just use the glasses part time. When the glasses are off, the operated eye will see clear and the other is blurry , and when the glasses are on , it's the opposite.
That one lens can be taken out of the frame just to let the person try it for awhile , to see if they can adapt, then if so, a plain lens can be put in temporarily.
