semi-rimless eyeglasses' vs regular rim eyeglasses, lifespan?!

Question: Semi-rimless eyeglasses' vs regular rim eyeglasses, lifespan?
since the glasses are held by thin nylon wire in the semi-rimless eyeglasses. i am sure that the wire won't last forever. once it breaks, there is no way that you can put the glasses back in the socket again.

with the regular rim glasses, if the glasses fall out, i can at least put them back in the socket.

so i wonder how long those semi-rimless eyeglasses will last?

thanks.

Answers:

I have a pair of glasses with no rims on the bottom. My dog got a hold of them and chewed them up a bit. One of the lenses popped out and the wire was loose and bent. But it didn't break, and I was very easily able to pop it back into place. I don't think it is the wire on the frame you should worry about; it is the lens. They are exposed on the edge and are more prone to chipping. I never had any trouble with this though, and I've had the same pair of dog-chewed glasses for two years

With the proper care all eyeglasses should be given , they will last as long as any other kind.

It's quite rare a lens will come out of them unless it gets sat on or something.

Even if the nylon does break , it is replaceable.

Most people have them several years and never have a lens pop out.

They last better than you would think. But if you are typically hard on glasses, they probably are not a good choice.

I wear them.
