Can antibiotics worsen dry eyes?!

Question: Can antibiotics worsen dry eyes?
I have had a bad case of dry eyes since September. I have been on three rounds of antibiotics for an unrelated issue (amoxicillin, lovemax (not sure of spelling) and lastly clindamycin) since then. Now it is December and my dry eyes have not gotten any better. My opthalmologist has now suggested placing temporary plugs in my eyes. Should I wait until my body is back to normal or are the antibiotics unrelated to my dry eye issue? Thank you for any input.

Do whatever your opthalmologist tells you to do. Don't try and treat yourself or think you know better than a professional. Dry eye can sometimes lead to blindness so don't delay, do whatever and use whatever your opthalmologist suggests. If you still aren't sure, go to another eye specialist and get a second opinion. Don't wait for anything. Get this cleared up as soon as you can. The antibiotics may have had some bearing on the dry eys, but the best person to ask is the specialist.
