OD vs OS for Contacts?!

Question: OD vs OS for Contacts?
I know that OD is for right eye and OS is for left eye. However, because both my eyes have the same prescription, can I order a box of, let's say, Right Eye (OD) color contacts and just use those for both my right eye and my left eye? Would it matter? Thank you :)

OU I'm pretty sure means both eyes.

I'm pretty sure that when they ask you what your prescription is they will ask about each individual eye. There should be a certain number on the box of your contacts. You just enter that number in for each eye.

For example my right eye is -2.75 and my left eye is -3.25 or something close to that if I remember right.

I wouldn't think it would matter since it is the same prescription for both eyes. If it's easier and cheaper to do it that way, then that is the way I would go. Or just order one box for both eyes with the same prescription to be safe. But I don't see how it would effect anything if you used a right eye contact in your left eye.

There is no such thing as right and left contacts.

They only become right and left if they are different powers.

If both eyes are the same...put them in any eye you want, the contacts are the same.
