What is the reason for a headache when I don't wear my glasses?!

Question: What is the reason for a headache when I don't wear my glasses?
I am nearsighted with astigmatism in one eye, my prescription isn't too strong but I need it to see anything that's more than 5-6 feet away from me. If I have gone for a long time without my glasses, or if its a while before I put them on in the morning, a headache comes on. I might not even have tried to do something like watch TV without glasses so why would that be?

If you were able in the past to have no headaches before but use your natural vision then it would indicate youve become reliant on glasses and you cant adjust anyone to living without them. Having a blur in front of you is not the issue necessarily (unless you choose to stress yourself out on it). Blind people see nothing. That would mean a super blur. But It doesn't mean they suffer headaches or worse headaches than others

Your glasses are there for a reason.

If you don't wear them your eyes are trying to work a lot to harder to do the impossible, causing eyestrain which manifests as a headache.

Wear your glasses! Have your eyes tested regularly. If you don't like wearing glasses, see your optician about contact lenses.

It isn't always about how strong your glasses are - some people have a weak prescription but have to wear them all the time, some have a stronger prescription but don't wear them as much. It just depends how your eyes and your brain cope with them.

I'm a dispensing optician.

Your eyes are not balanced, so going without your glasses forces one to work much harder than the other. (If one eye is too far out of balance, the brain has to shut it off to avoid confusion, and that takes a lot of energy)

Not wearing glasses when you need them causes eye strain. Headaches are one of the symptoms of eye strain.
