Corrective lenses will only improve you vision while you are wearing the glasses. Therefore wearing or not wearing the glasses will not change your vision. Your vision could improve naturally when you get older, but I mean much older. I had two relatives who were severely shortsighted but stopped having to rely so much on their glasses when they were in their 60s.

Your only options for not wearing glasses is contact lenses, Orthokeratology (Ortho-K) or Lasik. Simplistically, Ortho-K is a method that eliminates the need for wearing glasses during the day by the patient sleeping with special contact lenses which reshape they eye while they sleep. It is not a permanent fix. The correction seldom lasts more than two days, so you have to sleep with special lenses almost every night and it can be quite expensive and is not covered by Health Insurance, but is available to anyone who is mature enough to handle contact lenses properly.

Your other option, Lasik or Refractive Vision Correction surgery is laser surgery that can correct nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. No one should have this surgery until they are absolutely sure their vision has stabilized, usually in your early to mid twenties, give or take several years. If you have the surgery prior to total vision stabilization, you will have to have the surgery repeated. LASIK is considered cosmetic surgery, is not covered by health insurance and can be quite expensive . Lasik has only been in use for a little over ten years, so long-term side effects are unknown. Lasik is irreversible.

Although most people who have had LASIK have satisfactory to excellent results, those that do not suffer irreversible damage including halos, star bursts, night blindness and moderate to severe visual impairment. See "Sources" below for additional information on Lasik procedures and side effects.

Eye exercises, special diets and eye vitamins will not improve your vision, or if it does the improvement takes many many years and is so minuscule that there is no way to really tell if the improvement would have happened with or without eye exercise etc. Anyone who states different is either trying to scam desperate people for money or is deluding themselves. Believing in alternative methods of eye or health care is dangerous. I know people who died of cancer because they
believed alternative vitamins/herbs could cure them and people who caused severe car accidents because some fool told them they had to stop wearing glasses and do eye exercises to improve their vision.

Yes I wear glasses for my eyesight and it is crystal clear when wearing them. I have also discovered that taking Gingko Biloba improves my eyesight so much that when at one time the writing on the TV was blurred without glasses, it is now much, much clearer. However if I don't keep taking the Gingko my eyesight becomes blurry again. Also it is necessary to check with your doc if you should take them. Their action is to dilate blood vessels. I assume that the capillaries within my eyes dilate improving vision. Just my interpretation.

It will improve slightly with time, glasses or not.

We tend to become long-sighted with age, so people with normal vision may need reading glasses but short sight can get less so.

Yea it'll improve with glasses. But when you rake them back off, you'll just have trouble seein again. Simply put- wear ur glasses....
