I want to get colored contacts, help?!


Question: I want to get colored contacts, help?
I want to ask for these colored contacts for Christmas http://www.honeycolor.com/geo-tricolor-blue.html but my friend is telling me that if i don't get professionally fitted i could really hurt myself. but the internet is telling me that if when i put them in my eyes get red and they're uncomfortable then just take them out and ive wasted $20 can someone confirm this with like, a solid answer and source please?

it's not true what they say, you are suppose to get your eye size, and sizing information from your doctor so they are sent professionally fitted

If you don't get them fitted then you are riskign your eyesight. there are lots of questions about this on answers and you'll see that in the UK and US its illegal to supply lenses without a fitting from an optiican. There are comments as well to the effect taht some sites have been known to supply lenses which slice into someones cornea and other nasty effects. I can't give you the references but I suggest you do a search in answers as this is a commonly asked question.

Having your eyes get red and uncomfortable will be a sign of problems ,but that may also be too late. Neither is it an indicator of all problems. Also contacts take time and practice to take in and out , if you just want them for Christmas you may spend Christmas day getting frustrated with them and possibly with very sore eyes even if you dont' end up with permanent damage.
