what are those dots that I see?!

Question: What are those dots that I see?
What is the random air bubble. that is floating around in my vision? Its hard to explain, but its like a translucent air bubble that I see when I focus on it, and I can move it around by moving my eyes. It is free floating. I know its not really there physically, but I see it. Also, sometimes when I run I see multiple "stationary" bubbles in my vision. what are these.

It sounds like you have turned 40 or 45 and have developed what are called "floaters". The inside of your eye is like a gel. It has pulled away from the inner surface of your eye and sort of moves around in a fluid...what you are seeing is little tears and bubbles in the gel.

Its probably normal. But it wouldn't be a bad idea to have it checked. Sometimes it can be a sign of something more serious.

Eye floaters are those tiny spots, specks, flecks and "cobwebs" that drift aimlessly around in your field of vision. While annoying, ordinary eye floaters and spots are very common and usually aren't cause for alarm.

Floaters and spots typically appear when tiny pieces of the eye's gel-like vitreous break loose within the inner back portion of the eye.

When we are born and throughout our youth, the vitreous has a gel-like consistency. But as we age, the vitreous begins to dissolve and liquefy to create a watery center.

Some undissolved gel particles occasionally will float around in the more liquid center of the vitreous. These particles can take on many shapes and sizes to become what we refer to as "floaters."

You'll notice that these types of spots and floaters are particularly pronounced when you peer at a bright, clear sky or a white computer screen. But you can't actually see tiny bits of debris floating loose within your eye. Instead, shadows from these floaters are cast on the retina as light passes through the eye, and those shadows are what you see.

You'll also notice that these specks never seem to stay still when you try to focus on them. Floaters and spots move when your eye moves, creating the impression that they are "drifting."

Please see an eye doctor.. this is very important, there are so many disorders that could be causing you to do this. It isn't too expensive, call around and ask for prices. But you only have two eyes. They are irreplaceable. I was diagnosed with a disorder at 18, thank goodness I went to a doctor because I could of gone blind. These you are seeing are called floaters, I had them at 18 when I went to the eye doctor. That's when I was diagnosed with Uveitis.. a potentially blinding eye disorder. Please see a doctor!

Oh, and floaters are NOT normal! So don't let these people tell you that.. they're only normal when you are very old and nature has taken it's course on your eyes.

"well read" has an excellent suggestion. it could be "floaters". quite normal. i,d see an ophthalmologist for safeties sake. i had a yellow "dragon" shape in my eye. thought it was oil, but i couldn,t wash it out. turned out to be a torn retina.

you need to go to an eye doctor.

it could be something as simple as a vitamin deficiency or it could be the signs of macular degeneration or glaucoma

very very very small bacteria on your eye. No worries everyone has them just can't see them
