How to make yourself need glasses?!

Stay into the sun with no protection.
Or wear glasses that you can't see well out of, and eventually your eyes adjust and become dependent on the glasses.

Last I heard, wearing glasses is not a requirement for the position of opthamologist.

If you just want them, like as a fashion accessory, you can order the fake ones on line (most of the on-line eyeglasses sites will fit frames with "plano" (no power) lenses and you don't even need a prescrption. You can also get fake glasse in some of the stores that sell fashion acessories.

If you really want to wear "real" glasses, (glasses that have power to the lenses) and you have 20/20 vision, in theory, you could get + power contacts and wear - power glasses over them. If they are properly matched, the net effect is much like the experience of being nearsighted and wearing glasses. If this is properly done, it shouldn't be dangerous or anything like that, and you can go back to your original vision any time you want, (no need to wreck your vision) but it would involve finding an optician that would carry out such an odd request and spending a fair amount of money.

There is no way to do such a thing.
You need to realize that just because you are an ophthalmologist doesn't mean you have to wear glasses yourself.

Call your local opthamologist and ask how old you have to be to volunteer there - you will get lots of information by volunteering and working there
