how can you stop the increase of nearsightedness?!

Question: How can you stop the increase of nearsightedness?
i'm 13 and both my eyes are around 650 degrees (how my optometrist and parents say) and they say if my eyes keep getting worst, i'll be blind before i'm 18 TT~TT
DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO MAKE NEARSIGHTEDNESS GET BETTER? or at least slow the process of it getting worst
i'm horribly scared of that since i won't make it to university as my parents say and my future will be ruined
if anyone knows i will be eternally grateful!!!

Fitting the eyes with rigid gas permeable contact lenses can act as a template and maintain the shape of the cornea thereby stopping or slowing the progression of near sightedness.

Me. I am an optometric physician.

firstly you are not going to go blind, be unable to go to university and have your future ruined. I can't imagine why your parents would say such a thing. the sort of eyesight you have is due to your eyeball being the wrong shape this changes as you grow - either for teh better or for the worse and there is nothing you can do to influence it. However eyesight can be corrected to normal using glasses /contacts for eyesight a great deal worse than yours currently is. Its a nuisance but you will be able to see and see normally. When you get older you may have the option of surgery to make it normal.

don't believe any of the ideas about eye exercises , food etc, making a difference to this. They are just scams.

I do not believe it can get better. You probable have what is known as progressive myopia. Eyesight in people who have progressive myopia gets worse over time, some faster than others.

Have progressive myopia (nearsightedness), with astimitism, lazy eye

In my 20's now, always have needed glasses, started off at -1.25 now have -5.50 prescription with prism and many other "extras" in my glasses.
