Why do my eyes burn and water randomly?!

Question: Why do my eyes burn and water randomly?
Three or four times a week, my eyes have started getting really hot and painful, and then when I close them they water quite a lot. It lasts a few minutes, and then mostly goes away (but sometimes comes back again straight away). I don't wear glasses or contacts, and to my knowledge, I have 20/20 vision, so I don't get why it's happening? It only seems to happen at night, but I don't know if that makes a difference...

It sounds like dry eye. You can buy over the counter eye drops, like Gen-Teal or Systane etc. for dry eyes. I find the gels work better, but will make vision blurry for about 5 minutes. I use the drops in the morning and the gel before bed.

If you haven't seen an eye specialist for a comprehensive eye exam in 3 or more years, you are past due for an exam. Seeing an eye special every 2 or 3 year is the best way to prevent or minimize eye problems and maintain good vision.
