Hi. First off id like to apologise for the previous answer made by "footprint" I have read some of his previous answers and they lack a scientific basis, highly ignorant of the best interests and welfare of others and also unrelated to the poster of the question.

Reading your eyetest results in the car would indicate (to anyone with common sense) that you were not the driver of the car. Also usually its kids that are required to attend physicals not adults.
I took the time to read your previous question. Since it appears your mother is in charge of the house and cooking for you then you're obviously a child.

Well you were probably told that your eyesight result was not normal. The word glasses would mean just that...glasses. The people who run these eyetests are told to recommend anyone failing to go out and buy a new pair of glasses.

However if you don't want to wear glasses then you don't have to. A specialist might try to pressurise you into buying a product but its unlawful to prevent someone from having the choice to opt out. It's also unlawful to falsely claim someone's health is at risk when it isn't.
A similar example would be a fat kid who is so fat a salesman tries to advise his family that its vital for him to get one of those electric wheelchairs (to appear able to move around easily.) Great way for making money for the salesman but I think you and I know the real cause of the problem. The kid is too lazy and eats way too much for his own good.

So if you want to wear glasses later then fine, you do that. It's a free world so nobody will stop you.
When I was learning to drive I was told to start wearing glasses all the time. That's how it became a habit (wearing glasses). I also have an uncle whos an eye doctor. Every year I would get free glasses from him. So its understandable how I got into wearing glasses for the last 10 years.
However I saw a video in YouTube while researching laser eye surgery. (i was suffering from depression at the time and really felt bad that I had bad eyesight/wore glasses.)
The video convinced me that I maybe I could see clearly again. And now during most of the day I can.

The video I saw was:

By the way the average eyesight for a healthy adult is 20/10. The bigger the second number gets the worse the level of vision.

So in order of best to worse:

20/10
20/20
20/30
20/40

And so on...

By the way your story about getting mad with your mother about her cooking reminded me of my childhood. There were a few times in my life that I lost my temper really badly. Talking with my mother would be one of the times that triggered it. If you get certain places or people that make you lose your temper or you struggle to make sure that you put them down(in order to feel clever with yourself) you should check whether that's when your eyesight is getting really bad.

If you take note of how sometimes your vision gets much worse in certain places and how you use of nasty put down insults to feel above other people, you will help your vision not to deteriorate.

It's worth noting that people who really are better than others NEVER waste their time trying to prove a point or feel insecure when dealing with an idiot. It does not make sense for someone clever and normal to struggle or feel awkward if dealing with someone generally viewed as an idiot.

If you prefer to get angry and be free to spend your time struggling to put others down etc. you will always be able to do that.

And I guarantee doing that would lead to worse vision

The 20/40 line was the best you could read on the eyechart...which means yo have to be at 20 feet to see what a normal eye can see at 40 feet away.

You don't need 20/40 glasses...you need glasses because your vision appears to be only 20/40

Now you have to go to an optometrist for an actual eye exam.

20/40 is borderline in most places to be allowed to drive without glasses.
