Coloured Contacts for people with astigmatism?!
Question: Coloured Contacts for people with astigmatism?
Answers:
Color contacts are available for most prescriptions. To the best of my knowledge, they can be special ordered for cylinders up to +4.00 or -6.00. I don't know where you live, but I found the Freshlook page that displays addresses of optometrists in the UK. I will include a link in this reply. There are also other companies that make "toric" color contact lenses. Toric is the term that refers to astigmatism. If your astigmatism is high, you may need to have your lenses custom made, which can be costly. Here is the link:

Freshlooks come in astigmatism, just not all the colors. Its also a lot more expensive (around 3-4x the price). Its not really suggested to wear colored contacts since the technology isnt "up to date". The process in which they add the color fills some of the pores in the contacts so they dont let as much oxygen in compared to regular contacts. I dont feel a difference (one eye reg, one eye astigmatism) to be honest. Advice: Dont go super dramatic immediately. I have naturally dark brown almost black eyes so I transitioned from grey to the darker blue to a lighter blue and its a lot less dramatic. Usually if its too much of a change it looks bad in my opinion but if your going for the dramatic effect its all up to you since its your eyes =)
Edit: I get mine from 1800contacts.com Im not sure if they ship to the UK. Im pretty sure your eye doctor would have them too if you asked because freshlook is a pretty big brand in the US so it should be decent or well known around the world. On 1800contacts they only have 4 colors; honey, grey, green and blue.
