Well the childs eyes do alot of growing and adjusting up to the age of 10. Thats why all babies manage to remove their vision impairment and adapt to seeing 20/10 over time.

If this process was interfered with then your eyes may have grown incorrectly and that lead to your natural eyesight worsening.

The source for research on how lenses alter eyeball shape:

Shaeffel, F., Glasser, A., and Howland, H.C. (1988) Accomodation, refractive error and eye growth in chickens. Vis. Res. 28, 639-657.

Shaeffel F., Howland HC. (1991) Properties of feedback loops controlling eye growth and refractive state in the chicken. Vis Res; 31:717-734.

So if you suffered from myopia then its a case of elongation of the eyeball. If you have poor near vision then its kinda hard to explain how that can happen to someone still young. Normally poor near vision is caused by the crystalline lens of the person being so old that it gets stiff and inflexable.

So its possible that you have an eyeball shape problem and maybe a lack of range provided by your ciliary muscle and/or lens. This range is what provides the ability to switch between near and far vision

unfortunately eyesight does tned to get worse as you grow. Its about having an eyeball the wrong shape and thsi changes as you grow making matters either better or worse. There isn't anything you can do about it as it happens as you grow. Don't worry though that you will go blind. A lot of people go through this and very few people can't get eyesight which is correctable by glasses. You are unlucky to have to wear bifocals though. Make sure you get regular checkups and look into the possibility of contact lenses.

you seem to have bad eyesight since very young. One cannot expect that they will be better. More often than not the vision will get worse and that is why you had to wear a Focal. The best thing you can do is to visit an ophtalmologist who will see the eye from the inside and advice what can be done. Cases like yours could be treated with a laser or inplanted lenses instead of the glasses. But these can only be adviced by the ophtalmologist after seeing your case. There is no straight line. What was good for one could not be good for you. So, go to check.

dude stop using glass as much. I need glass I never wear them and had the same prescription since 10 years. They just makes you need them more.

Consult an ophthalmologist.
