How to look after your eye sight?!

Question: How to look after your eye sight?
Unfortunately my eye sight isn't great therefore i have to wear glasses at school when reading the board. However i heard if you continuously wear them your eyes become used to them therefore becoming even more worse. How do you prevent this from happening?

I think you answered the question yourself

So lets say there was a possibility of your eyesight getting back 20/10...it would be near impossible to achieve that now simply because of the power of the glasses youre wearing. An example of the difficulty and discomfort youd experience would be trying to wear glasses with a prescription twice as strong as your current glasses.

I find glasses interfere with my social life because of the effect it has on brainwaves and the fact that it comes across like you want stare at people when you talk to them. Becoming a loner or being homosexual seems to be the only way of avoiding the problem.

So basically they can have an effect on the person psychologically.
Some people believe concave lenses make the situation worse for the wearer because that person can build up a complex with using their near vision. The way they go about their near vision starts getting weird like they want to disown it.
Physically the problem with shortsightedness is down to an elongation of the eyeball.
The only lens that could possibly assist with this kind of problem is a convex lens. Tests on chickens found they were the only type of lens that didn't cause shortsightedness in eyesight.

Also i would say alot of people that easily could have had 20/10 vision never really had perfect vision as a high priority in life. They probably found having a blur in their vision useful sometimes because they didn't want see certain things on occasion.

Wearing glasses won't change your eye health, in a negative or positive way. The only effect I can think of would be a slight headache when first adjusting. Whatever changes occur in your eyesight are most likely genetically programmed. Wearing glasses can be convenient, being able to see in all, but won't improve or worsen your vision. Neither is reading in the dark, sitting too close to the T.V., wearing someone else's glasses, etc. going to worsen your eyesight.

If your prescription does happen to worsen over time, as long as it is correctable by glasses you have nothing to worry about. Wear your glasses without any guilt!

I really don't understand what the big deal with 20/20 vision is WITHOUT glasses. Your eyes can still be healthy, and you can still see perfectly fine with correction.

Any source that tends to argue the need for glasses can be '"cured" or is because of close work, etc. is trying to sell you some natural vision cure. Any source that argues it is genetic is from the scientific/medical community. You decide who to trust!!

that is not true. glasses are good for your eyes because they are correcting the positioning of your eye lenses. other than this there is nothing that you can do preserve your eye sight.
