Can sitting in front of the computer, starring at the monitor for a long time gi!

Question: Can sitting in front of the computer, starring at the monitor for a long time gives me migrane?
It's not even healthy to be playing computer, websurfing the whole time right? What's the limit usually?

If you get migraines then computer screens can be a trigger. However it wont' be the only trigger. I get migraines and as a computer professional I'm on the screens all the time. When i'm on holiday I get less migraines, but you just have to be doubly careful with other triggers. Also its good to avoid anythign where you have flashing/movign lights on teh screen. That can be a problem with game playing - I can't manage that at all.

I suggest you look at one of the migraine sites and work out your triggers. Also make sure the light is right for you and you aren't dehydrating. Getting everything right about teh positioning of teh screen makes a big difference. Try and get a few breaks as well. If you constantly get migraine and you can't control it with self management its worth going to teh doctor.

You can get migranes, but that's usually if you're watching videos with lots of lights, or looking at websites with neon colors, etc.
I personally would recommend taking 15 minute breaks every hour or hour and a half. I continuously am on the computer after school for about 6 hours, and my eyes hurt after. But when I take breaks, it helps a lot!
I wouldn't be on the computer for 10 hours even with breaks.

If something hurts then don't do it. Why are even asking advice on this. Do you have an addiction to sitting in front of the screen? If you're not straining to read the writing then glasses won't help you. If your eyes get better from resting then rest them. It's like the part of your head that works out what hurts you isn't switched on. You better switch it back on.

If your prone to migraines, the lights from the monitor may aggravate it. It's different for everyone. I know I'm much more susceptible at certain points in my menstrual cycle, and the TV bothers me more than the computer.

yes, it used to give me migrane. then, I changed my glassess. if you don't wear glassess still an eye doctor can tell you where to buy computer glassess.

yes computers and tv's can give you headaches, I agree with Morgan, you need to take 15 minute breaks every hour.
