No.

The ability to go cross-eyed is necessary for your near vision to work. When looking at the far distance the eyes automatically become less cross-eyed. Being cross-eyed only feels strange in the way you describe because normally it happens when we look at something near like a book etc. If you're choosing to pay more attention to what's in the distance then it becomes a strange experience. That's why you also notice double vision occurring while doing it

The ability to use your near vision is USEFUL. BY the age of 50 people can still go cross-eyed but their crystalline lens has become old and stiff. This means their eyes can no longer focus on near objects.

There is another way of knowing whether going cross eyed is bad for you. Think about this. The way your eyes turn for being cross-eyed also happens all the time when you want to gaze to the far left/right.
I mean take your left eye for instance. When going cross-eyed it looks to the far right. When you actually want to look to the far right your left eye does EXACTLY the same action. Same thing applies to the right eye too.
The only danger you face regarding turning your eyes (or more specifically when using your eye muscles) is NOT actually allowing your eyes to turn in all directions (and fully). A lot of people who wear glasses get problems in this area because they don't turn theirs eyes often and certainly not to their fullest extent

No problem. If your eyes cross too easily, it may indicate a problem with your visual system. Your eyes will not stick if you cross them. I personally cross my eyes sometimes when I am being silly.

No it is not bad for the eyes. But don't do it too often, it can cause strain on the eye muscles and puts pressure on your eyeballs.
