cataracts symptoms and surgery?!

Question: Cataracts symptoms and surgery?
I have recently been diagnosed with cataracts in both eyes. the only symptoms I have is in the sun I cannot see unless I shield my eyes with my hands or wear a visor with a brim to block the direct sun then it is fine. And at night I do see the circles around lights. I want to put off the surgery as long as I can as I am going through something devastating Ijust had a major house fire and am living in a hotel until things get settled. I just do not want any more pain or trauma right now..Is it safe to wait? Did you have these same kind of symptoms? If you did have the surgery, how did it go and how do you see now? Medicare will be picking up this bill, does that mean they do it the cheapest way out? Thanks for all your help,

There is no rush for surgery.

It could take a long long time before your cataracts interfere with your vision to the point that they have to be removed. A year , 2 years, 3 years...maybe more

Don't worry about them taking the cheapest way out . Even the basic way is very effective and works 99% of the time with no complications. The actual surgery is safe and simple, and is the same whether you be a street person or a millionaire.

Good luck with your problems for now.

Had the same problem with both eyes, one after the other. It will get worse, not just the light sensitivity, you will find that you lose your eyesight, not completely straight away. It is like looking through fog or misted windows, that's the best way I can explain it.
Had the operation done and it was really worth it. Day surgery, no pain, just a little sore.
Put your name on the waiting list, it might take some time before you can get it done through medicare and it hopefully you get it done before it gets bad.
Wish you all the best and hope things get sorted soon
