Question: Anything with symptoms like blepharitis minus the crusting?
Every symptom of this eye infection I have matches up with blepharitis. I have the eye irritation near tear ducts, I have the slightly swollen eyelids that are red. However, there is no crust. Not only that, but the two medications I've been given to treat it (gentamicin and then tobradex) have not worked. I'm not convinced about what it is anymore, since using the usual blepharitis cleanup routine has not worked, nor has the medication.

You could have a blocked or other tear duct problem or some other eye infection. Both Gentamicin and Tobradex are antibiotic drops used to treat eye infection including severe blepharitis. If you have used the drops/ointment for the time specified by your eye specialist and have seen little or no improvement, you ought to get a second opinion from another ophthalmologist or optometrist.
