I been there before for a tumor under my lid. They have you do the usual test read chart, he'll look in your eyes with a light of some kind. have you cover one eye and so on. no biggy. then he adds some visine and hell tell you if your good 20/20

Number one thing is get your PD (Pupil Distance). Do not get an eye exam unless your doctor will give you a PD. The PD is needed to center your prescription in the lenses. So, the doctor purposely does not include this measurement to sort of strong arm you into purchasing glasses and lenses through them. If you buy through a doctor you're going to pay an arm and a leg.

If you have your prescription and PD you can purchase any designer brand frame for almost half the cost. I personally shop at http://www.simplyeyeglasses.com. They are an optical lab so you can buy direct through them and they give you a 7 Day Money Back Guarantee.

You may want to call you doctor to make sure you get your pd so you can decide for yourself where to go to purchase your frame.
