Question: What's the difference between a Neuron and a Photoreceptor in the eye?
...AND! are rods/cones a neuron? a photoreceptor?
please clear this up for me! im confused

Answers:

Photoreceptors are cells that are light-sensitive; when a photon of light hits them, they send a signal that gets passed through a couple levels of ganglion cells to the neurons, which carry it to the brain. Technically, photoreceptors are a special type of neurons, but when we speak of retinal neurons, we usually mean the other ones.
