Is it safe to wear expired contact lens?!

Question: Is it safe to wear expired contact lens?
My contact lenses are monthly disposable. I've ordered a new pair online and they will only arrive after Christmas. But my current pair expires on the 22 Dec. Will it be safe to continue wearing my current one after 22nd, while waiting for the new pair to arrive?

Answers:

Its a risk - do you really want to risk your eyesight? If you really want to wear the lenses for xmas day what about leaving them otu for a day here and there before xmas and you will then be able to put in a couple of extra days over xmas? Monthlies are to wear for 30 days so if you leave them out a couple of days you can wear for 30 days over a 32 day period for example.

If it was safe they wouldnt tell you to wear it for a monthly and they don't call it monthly for no reason it's at your own risk to wear them more then that I wouldnt risk my eyes only have one pair and it just might cause blindness irritated eyes infection cause red eyes and discomfort I wore mines over night by mistake and they were a new pair and I got such horrible after affects ones o couldn't image would happen to me I had everything listed above expect for blindness and infection but more blind then before it caused my eyes to have very blurry almost making I seem like I'm going blind

No. Every contact lens has an expiry date as a medical prescription.
