Pulled out something stuck in eye?!

Question: Pulled out something stuck in eye?
The other night I put up my Christmas tree. An hour or so later I noticed something was in my eye. It felt like gritty sand. Kind of like a sty. I flushed my eye and washed my face. When I was done I gave my eye a careful look-over in the mirror and noticed a great big allergy looking eye "goopy" that went across the entire bottom lid. I started removing it and it stuck at the very end. I was already pulling on it, not with great force or anything, but it felt like it had been actually stuck, or lodged inside my eye ball or eye lid. I'm not sure which because it happened so fast and was at the very far corner of my eye underneath where my lids meet. Once it came out I felt immediate relief. But my eye was still all blood shot and still is! It was also quite swollen. The swelling is going down. My upper lid is a little puffy still, as if I've been crying. And my eye is still very blood shot. It's a little tender in that corner still when I blink. I'm wondering if anyone else has ever had this happen to them? I can't afford a Dr's visit at the moment and would appreciate any advice.

It sounds like you definately got something stuck in your eye. It could have been sticky, like sap from the tree, or it may have dried in your eye. Either one of those things could have made it stick. Having that thing stuck in your eye, and pulling it out irritated your eyeball. That's why it is red, tender and blood shot. It's better that you took it out though.
I would advise you to flush your eye a couple of times a day with cool water. Put your eye under gentle running water for about five minutes and rinse from the inner eye to the outer eye. You can also get a cold washcloth to hold over your eye. It should feel better in a couple of days. If it doesn't feel better, you really need to see a doctor because you may seriously scratched your eye or have an infection. If you notice an unusual pus or discharge, call the doctor.

If the swelling is going down, you should be fine. This happens sometimes when I sleep in contacts, and it gets "lost" in my eye. My eye just stays bloodshot for a couple of days.

If you have a doctor that you regularly go to, you can always call and ask a question without being charged.

Much better to see your doctor whatever the cost,your eyes are precious" but try borax crystals inn tepid water, you can get the crystals at your chemist,also cold tea is pretty good too , but get proper medical attention;

experience of years ,

i would try maybe like a soft compress like a little damp wash cloth or paper towel and hold it down soft on all swollen parts. (warm/hot damp water). :P
