Yes they would likely tell you. Maybe not if it was barely noticeable, but otherwise yes. They would have either mentioned the words strabismus or amblyopia to you, two conditions commonly associated with "lazy eye"

Can you see equally out of both eyes, or is it much worse in one even when you have glasses on? If one is worse WITH glasses, then it could be what is called amblyopia. It could also just potentially be the wrong prescription.

Is one eye noticeable misaligned? Your doctor would have called this strabismus. Strabismus can be all the time or only sometimes (like when you're tired). Some people have such mild strabismus with no issues that is not worth doing anything about.

If the doctor noticed a lazy eye, it could have happened in one of two ways typically. To spot amblyopia, it is usually when trying to find the right prescription for one eye (i.e. which is better? 1 or 2?) If you had amblyopia, that eye just wouldn't ever see the smallest letters. For strabismus, it is usually noticed when you alternate covering left and right eyes while staring at something. If you had strabismus, your eyes would shift a little while switching focus.

Again, if it was anything, your eye doctor would tell you. However, I've come across this website I think you would like: http://www.vision3d.com/frame.html
Basically, if you can't do this, your eyes don't work together and you don't have binocular vision. When you have a lazy eye, you usually don't have binocular vision.

Plus I have a lazy eye (strabismus and amblyopia) myself!

Ofcourse they would... it's easy to know if you've got a 'lazy eye' or not. You can do this test yourself.

Makesure you've got your glasses or contacts on.

Look at some small letters far away, as small as possible, but you can just read it.

Now get a piece of paper (preferably black or darkish). Get a pin and puncture a hole in it. Now look at those far away letters through that hole 1 eye at a time (makesure you cover the non testing eye). IF you can't see the far away letters clearly through that 'pin-hole', then that eye is lazy.

Not necessaliary but they probally would lazy eye also contributes to how well you can see you have to keep that in mind

They should
