Do contacts ever go bad?!

My guess is that you got 'daily-single-use' disposable contact lenses. If that is the case, then all of the lenses that are unopened are still good.

All sealed contact lenses (in their blister boxes) are stored in a sterile saline solution, and technically will NEVER go bad. But as Contacts are a medical instrument, by law they must have an expiry date stamped on the packaging. But they're usually 3-4 yrs from when you bought them.

Check for the expiry date just in case, and if it's hasn't lapsed.. and that the package is still SEALED, then it's good to use.

Throw all other contact lenses that have been opened away.

ya. you should be fine.i did about the same a year ago, and it hasn't bugged me. after you open them and wear them, you can leave them in the container with the solution for up to 30 days. the solution in the package is MUCH different than the stuff you buy from the store. so go ahead, give 'em a shot! you should so be fine!

If the packaging is still sealed, check the expiry date. If they haven't expired, go ahead, wear them. It's just fine. Since you bought them 5 months ago, I guess it's ok to wear them, but check the expiry date anyways. To be on the safe side.

You shouldn't use them if it's been like a year and if your wearing them then you have to change them out at least once a month.
