Colored Contacts. Good or bad?!

Question: Colored Contacts. Good or bad?
I'm looking to get colored contacts for more of a every day change. I have very beautiful brown eyes but I'm looking to change it to blue. I would prefer to be able to have this almost daily if not daily. Of course when I'm around the house I would most likely not have them in just because there would be no point. I do have 20/10 vision so I would not need any corrective lens.

So my question is if they are safe? Can they be worn for an extended period of time?

If you have yourself had them, how was the turn out? Did they work as well as you had hoped or were they not able to change that much?

Thank you in advance for any answers.

Answers:

They are only safe if you have them fitted by an optician. it doesn't matter that you don't need a corrective lens. This is like putting on a random shoe you had picked off a shelf - it wouldn't be likely to fit and woudl rub and give you blisters. A similar thing will happen with your eye. Also contacts restrict teh amount of oxygen to your eye so you have to be careful how long you wear them and have your eyes checked regularly. In the UK and US it is illegal to sell contacts of any sort without someone having a script from the opticain. If a store or site does this then what other illegal things are they doing with lenses? You can have your eyesight permantly damaged by a bad lens.
